I have often found that large CMS platforms like WordPress can be unweildy, and provide an easy user interface at the expense of easy back end customizability.
Having also been in the position to make simple websites for clients, friends, and business partners that required separation of content for easy editing and the flexibility to customize every aspect of the site without interference from existing CMS arcana, I was left wanting.
Similarily, many popular, extant PHP frameworks were too large for my purposes.
So as a way to make myself a better programmer and to build a resuable tool for simple websites and web applications, I set out to build my own web framework from scratch.
A Bright CMS is the result of my efforts, and the source code is free, open, and available to anyone that might benefit.
